You will receive messages, alerts and news notifications in your workspace. The article, Introduction to Notifications - Messages, Alerts and News explains these three types of notifications and when they are received.
Access notifications from the top navigation bar.
Clicking these icons displays the relevant notification panel.
The red circle number next to the notification icon indicates the number of unread notifications since the panel was accessed.
Using Messages
Search and Filters
You can search for a message by student name or app ID.
Use the filters to organise the messages list by newest to oldest or oldest to newest.
Messages Notification Format
Each message in the Messages pane the name of the person who sent the message, the message (this will be truncated if too long), the student the message refers to, the date or time the message was sent and the App ID.
As well a green dot with a number in it indicates how many messages are unread for that student's application.
If a message has file attachments, this will be indicated in the message notification.
Click on the message (or click Reply) to take you to the Messages tab for the relevant student application in the Applications page.
The red dot at the bottom the message indicates that this message has not been read yet. If you click this dot, it changes to grey. Grey indicates that the message has been read. You can toggle between these two states by clicking on the dot.
Managing Message Notifications
You can delete the message by clicking the trash can icon at the bottom of the message.
Click the Mark all as read link to show all messages listed as read. When the Mark all as read link is clicked, it becomes a Clear all link. Click this link to delete all messages from the messages pane.
Using Alerts and News

You can view alerts by all, Students, Applications or Documents notifications
News items can be viewed by all, Adventus, Institution or Webinar notifications
You can set the above tabs you want to show by clicking the cog ( ) icon and selecting the tabs to show or hide.
Managing Alert and News Notifications
Any alert or news notification that has not been read yet is indicated by a green dot. When you click an unread alert/news green dot, the green dot changes to grey, indicating that the alert/news item is read.
To clear (delete) a notification, click the trash can icon ( ) at the bottom of the message.
If you want to mark all notifications listed as ‘read’ you can click the ‘Mark all as read’ link. If all the notifications are read and you want to delete all the items, click the ‘Clear all’ link.
